FS RAKU

Within the 50th Anniversary Edition, Francisco Segarra offers a coating inspired by this ancestral ceramic production technique, Raku. Raku consists of using ceramics with metallic glazes in special kilns which, upon reaching firing temperature, are removed and placed on wood shavings or paper. This heat generates combustion and therefore a quantity of smoke that penetrates the piece and becomes part of it. This has been the inspiration for Francisco Segarra who, as a result of experimentation with this technique, presents a brick-format coating with the colors, textures, nuances, and craquelure characteristic of this type of product.
